Cycle routes
Route 45 to Brearton
Distance: 33 km / 20 miles
20.5 miles fairly easy apart from climb back to Harrogate from Knaresborough – approx 2 hours (+ any tea stop)
To Knaresborough via Forest Moor Road. Turn right on to Abbey Road, Wetherby Road, Chain Lane then onto Halfpenny Lane.
At roundabout turn right onto Breary Flat Lane. Follow onto Water Lane turning right into Hazelhead Lane then left into Bar Lane.
Turn right onto Boroughbridge Road, bear left towards Farnham. Turn right Farnham Lane then left towards Staveley. Turn left towards Ockney Beck. Just over beck bridge bear left. Follow minor road straight on and it will eventually peter out and join bridleway across field (off road section for 0.5 miles). Join Warren lane into Brearton. Ride through village and tern left towards Knaresborough. Turn left at B6165 for short section of busier read. Take next left towards Scotton. Follow Road until Lingerfield then turn right on to market Flat Lane. Follow route into Scriven and Knaresborough. Return to Harrogate by preferred route
