WHEEL EASY FIVE MEDIUM RIDE CHALLENGE 2010
This year we are planning challenging rides and destinations for all those of you who over the last year have ventured out on the medium rides more regularly. This means that you are now fitter and more confident to say, Yes, I can ride to Pateley Bridge!! As the rides will start in May you will have time to build up and find your cycle legs. The pace will be nice and steady with all the usual attractions of good cafι stops. Medium Plus riders can also do the rides at a faster pace.
In addition do try to tackle the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride on Saturday June 5th and the 60 mile flat Acorn Ride on Saturday May 22nd.
Sunday May 9th 48 miles. Brimham-Fountains-Deer Park-Ripon-Bishop Monkton. Hilly for the outward stretch but worth the wonderful views at Brimham followed by the great swoop down through the Deer Park. Lunch at Spa Gardens and an easy ride home.
Sunday June 20th 50 miles. York. Flat ride east via Long Marston to visit the York Cycle Show, buy some bargains and picnic together.
Sunday July 25th 40+ miles Pateley Bridge. Route to be confirmed but there are plenty of hills, sweetened by some very nice downhill bits!
Sunday August 8th 40 miles. Beningborough Hall via Aldwark Bridge. Flattish ride through pretty villages.
Sunday August 22nd 40 miles. Ilkley. Hilly start followed by a long stretch along the river from Otley to Ilkley.
Always check the website calendar and club emails in case of any changes.
If anyone would like to help to lead these rides please let me know.
